Oval Printable

Today, I wanted to share with you some fun and engaging activities that focus on shapes. We used these activities with our little ones to help them learn about different shapes and how to identify them. And the best part is that they were so engaged, they didn’t even realize they were learning! We started off with a fun activity that involved making shapes out of playdough. We used different colors of playdough so that the kids could easily see the different shapes. We talked about each shape as we made them and the kids even tried to make their own shapes. It was so much fun and a great way for them to practice their fine motor skills. Next, we used some shape flashcards to play a matching game. We laid out all the cards and had the kids match each shape with the correct word. This was a great way for them to practice their reading and word recognition skills. We also used some shape stickers to create our own shape collages. We gave the kids a piece of paper and let them stick on as many shapes as they could find. They had so much fun searching for different shapes and creating their own unique collages. Another activity we did was to go on a shape scavenger hunt. We walked around our neighborhood and looked for different shapes in the environment. We found shapes in everything from street signs to trees! It was a great way to get the kids outside and exploring their surroundings. And finally, we did some shape painting. We used different shape stencils and let the kids paint inside the shapes. It was a great way for them to practice their painting skills and learn about different shapes at the same time. Overall, these activities were a huge hit with our little ones and helped them learn about shapes in a fun and engaging way. We hope you can use these ideas with your own kids and have just as much fun as we did!
